Deadvlei
Deadvlei is one of those iconic places that appears in images around the world. It is a long drive through soft desert sand to get there but it is well worth it. Vlei is an Afrikaans word that means a small depression that often fills with water during the rainy season but the dead trees standing there clearly haven't seen water in some time.
